    Description

    The Nurturing London programme was designed to place the 'Whole School Nurturing Approach' into the context of violence reduction. Nurture practice empowers adults in school to allow children and young people to engage in missing early nurturing experiences.     Description

    In light of the increased amount of time young people spent online during the pandemic, the VRU commissioned an in-depth exploration of online harms looking at 'acceptable' use, regulation, and the experiences of marginalised young people online. The report sets out 7 key recommendations and young people's calls for action.

    The 'Social Switch' project aims to switch the narrative on how social media's relationship to youth violence is understood, tackled and solved; through training practitioners and supporting young people into sustainable digital careers. Catch 22, the delivery provider, commissioned NPC to evaluate the Social Switch Project in terms of process and outcomes.

  • Primary healthcare – the Well Centre

    Description

    The Well Centre is a free and confidential primary care service for 11-21 year olds in Lambeth and Wandsworth. The core elements of the Well Centre are that it is General Practitioner (GP) led, youth friendly and responsive to young people’s needs. The process evaluation was funded as part of the VRU's Local Authority Research & Evaluation Fund.
  • Project 10/10 report on Community-based Crisis Intervention

    Project 10/10 works with young people using an authentic youth-led approach and a peer-referral outreach model of delivery. This VRU funded report was delivered by a consortium led by Camden & Islington NHS Trust and provides insight and learning into community-based crisis intervention and trauma support for young people through the lens of the 10/10 project.

    This research, conducted by Loughborough University, examined how sports programmes can play a role in mitigating young Londoners’ experiences of violence and it’s impacts.
  • Stronger Futures

    Description

    Stronger Futures is a targeted funding programme manged by Rocket Science and Action for Race Equality. The programme funds community-led groups across 20 projects and 5 boroughs, providing support for children and young people aged 10-18 afterschool and at weekends. This evaluation report explores process learning and outcomes from the first 2 years of the project.
  • Supporting children and young people impacted by domestic abuse – Bambu project

    Description

    The Bambu Project aims to provide trauma-informed, early intervention support for children and young people (CYP) impacted by domestic abuse. It does this through direct one-to-one support and multiagency work, improving the system of support around the child. The process and impact evaluation is carried out by Cordis Bright.
