Food support if you're pregnant or have a child under four years old
If you’re more than 10 weeks pregnant or have a child under 4, and also have a low income, you may be entitled to financial help to buy healthy food and milk. If you’re eligible, you’ll be sent a Healthy Start card with money on it that you can use in some UK shops, and the card will be automatically topped up with your entitlement every 4 weeks. You can also use the card to get free vitamins for you and your child.
Most people can apply for Healthy Start via an online form, by email, or by phone. If you have no recourse to public funds, you may still be able to able to receive Healthy Start if your child(ren) is under four and a British Citizen.
