Family Financial Resilience Partnership
For families on low incomes, accessing good quality, free and independent advice can help prevent or alleviate financial hardship.
To support families on low incomes, the Mayor is investing £2.2m in 2026 in advice and support for families with children. The Family Financial Resilience Partnership will fund advice in Family Hubs across 12 London boroughs.
The Partnership is part of the GLA's wider income maximisation work, which includes a range of activities and programmes to help Londoners maximise their incomes. So far, the income maximisation programmes have reached over 125,000 Londoners and helped Londoners increase their incomes by over £90m.
About the programme
The Family Financial Resilience Partnership funds two leading advice networks, London Legal Support Trust and London Citizens Advice, to oversee and fund local advice providers to deliver social welfare advice for parents and carers. The advice covers a range of issues including benefit entitlement, debt, housing, childcare, disability, immigration advice and referrals for employment support.
Advice is delivered in Best Start Family Hubs and children’s centres and their wider community networks for parents and carers of children aged up to 19, or 25 for those with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND).
Alongside funding advice, the programme strengthens London’s advice infrastructure by building and strengthening partnerships between advice services and public services, getting people the right support at the right time, and helping families experience a more integrated approach to support.
