The Good Work Standard (GWS)

Join a community of employers making good work, standard in London.

The Mayor's Good Work Standard (GWS) is a free accreditation programme for employers, aiming to improve the working lives of Londoners by bringing together best employment practice as well as links to resources and support to help employers improve their organisations.

Developed in collaboration with London's employers, trade unions, professional bodies and experts, it sets the benchmark the Mayor wants every London employer to work towards and achieve.

London is home to the most diverse, innovative and forward thinking businesses, and we are committed not only to making our city the best in the world to do business, but the best place in the world to work.
Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London

What is good work

The Good Work Standard is organised into four key areas, known as pillars, which set the benchmark for good work.

Involving employees in decision making, managing change and positive engagement with trade unions, where possible, cuts across all pillars of the Good Work Standard.
