Discovery sessions

The Economic Fairness team run information sessions to get you started on your accreditation journey every first Thursday of the month at 10am.

These sessions will help you to understand:

what is the Good Work Standard and its benefits
how to get started with your accreditation process and achieve the standard
what makes up the Good Work Standard criteria
what does good evidence look like
wider benefits of being part of the Good Work Standard community.

Good Employment Week 2025

Good Employment Week is an annual week of activities, that aims to raise awareness of good employment across city-regions.

Developed by the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter, this year the Mayor's Good Work Standard are celebrating Good Employment Week with a range of events and social media campaigns:

Monday 24 November - The Conflict Lab with The Liminal Space
Tuesday 25 November - An introduction to the Good Work Standard
Wednesday 26 November - Opening doors to good work with Business in the Community

Celebrating good practice and the future of work

On 2 April 2025, the Deputy Mayor for Business and Growth, Howard Dawber, gathered over 100 good employers, trade unions, and industry experts at City Hall to celebrate good work, and look to the future of work launching the refreshed Good Work Standard, updated to reflect the evolving world of work and upcoming employment rights legislation.
