    Will the Thames Gateway Development and Investment Framework take account of recent analyses of the costs and benefits of delivering sustainable construction in Thames Gateway redevelopment, namely the LDA's report on Sustainable Design and Construction in Thames Gateway, the WWF report `One Planet Living in the Thames Gateway" and the FKM report on Utilities in the Thames Gateway? .

    I am sure the people who are here from Maylands Field will be delighted. However, the people from Romford who are going to lose a playing field and other green sites will not be pleased. My advice is that the depot at Ilford could be used. There were 38 other places rejected on what seemed to us very skimpy evidence. Locally you had a word in their ear, but we had some of your people putting up places that are in green field sites, which seems to me to be against your great ideas of protecting green field sites.     I wanted to explore around the local authorities that are failing or refusing to make decisions and then the process of appeal and the cost that will be borne by local Council Tax payers for the cost of going to appeal and in many cases of the local authority losing. Are you in a position to do any analysis of that and give any view about the failure of the proper planning processes being used by local authorities in the first place?

    Do you agree that Middlesex University's proposed expansion should take place on its recently acquired Tottenham Hale site and on other available brownfield sites in North London, such as the previous Business Innovation Centre site in East Enfield, and that the expansion should not take place in Trent Park, which is an outstanding area of green belt and a fine country park with excellent public access? .

    The GLA's planning report on this development, dated 17 December 2003, states that The (London Development) Agency has been closely involved in the development of the scheme and in particular securing over £6m of Sustainable Communities Fund funding. Please give full details of the LDA's involvement in the development scheme? Do you consider that the LDA should promote a business park development which will destroy a rare remaining example of London `s Thames side grazing marsh, which is a priority wildlife habitat? . .
