Recent requests made under the Freedom of Information Act by the trade union Equity revealed that the ongoing situation in Gaza was discussed in a meeting between Arts Council England (ACE) and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), which led to ACE updating its guidance to say political statements could break funding agreements. How are you ensuring that cultural projects you fund are allowed a full range of political expression?
