With the current economic climate the announced council tax freeze will be welcome change for Londoners. With this in mind can the Mayor please indicate to Londoners where they can find the extra cash to pay for the high rent increases that have been announced by some London boroughs. Can the Mayor also confirm what influence the Mayor has over local councils to negotiate a fairer deal for residents.

With being Mayor of London comes great responsibility. The public expect a Mayor to be an upstanding member of the community who will act as a role model to old and young alike; the Mayor of London should be capable of coping with any given situation with dignity. In a written answer to question 2651/2008 from December's MQT you said: "funding and resources that are invested by the GLA into the community are open to all, regardless of ethnic background and this will continue to be our policy on behalf of all Londoners". As you know the GLA not only funds the London Schools and the Black Child Conference but also provides staff for the event. Can you confirm if you will be holding a conference for the advancement of non-Afro Caribbean children or if you will be changing basis of the London Schools and the Black Child...
