Can I say that personally I am quite happy to defend, if it needs defending, the Commissioner's right to comment on proposals. I do not think we should equate him with the chief executive of a local authority because he is not. Chair, he says he does not want to be drawn into our Party-political controversy, but frankly I think it is too late.
