Thank you. Could I deal perhaps with just two of the issues? First, I would like to talk about access via front counters. I think you rather glossed over this and, although you said they were not fit for purpose your suggestion, your suggestion was that the reason they were not fit for purpose was because they did not have enough people if you like serving behind the counters. Would you not agree that it is an appalling design, a total lack of customer focus from the people who are serving, ignoring the public, dirty front counters, no seats, long...

I take the point, wholly, that the train operating companies should be paying for their policing. Historically they do not. I do not think the public is going to be much impressed by this turf war.

I wholly agree that this is best served to get sorted out pragmatically and at borough level, but can I suggest that it might be helpful, if it is not already happening, for the MPA to take the lead in discussion with what used to be the ALG, London Councils, as I think it is now, to try and start some thinking about how to rationalise what is becoming an increasingly complex consultative structure with often the same people going to lots of meetings saying exactly the same thing.

The Police and Justice Bill - or Act as it very nearly is - will require every local authority to set up a Community Safety Scrutiny Committee which again will add to the complexities of the local arrangements we are discussing. How do you envisage that fitting in with the arrangements? How will it relate to the police consultative groups for instance?

Have you secured agreement with the British Transport Police that Transport Safer Neighbourhood PCSOs will be permitted to patrol their `territory' without any restrictions?

Do you agree that it is inappropriate for the MPS to classify some homicide cases as `A+' on the basis of expected media attention thus attracting a more resources (money and staff) towards the investigation? Would it not be better for this ACPO policy to be reviewed with a view to removing this external driver from homicide investigations?
