On December 27th and 28th 2010, Londoners in South East London were made aware by Southeastern trains that Waterloo East and Charing Cross stations would be closed for engineering works. Posters at Southeastern stations directed passengers wishing to go to these destinations to use appropriate underground services to Charing Cross or Southwark stations. However, the only London Underground line serving Southwark station is the Jubilee Line, which was also suspended during this period.
