Caroline Pidgeon MBE AM: Thank you. Mr Mayor, just ten weeks ago, in answer to a Mayoral question (MQ), you stated, “The Elizabeth line remains on course to open as planned in December 2018”. The Commissioner, in the TfL Board report of 25 July [2018] stated, “Crossrail remains on course to open as planned in December”. Sir Terry, on 6 June, when the Transport Committee visited Tottenham Court Road with you, you gave me an absolute assurance that the opening of Crossrail would be in December. I want to ask about the experience of the passengers who are waiting to use this line but before I get on to those questions I want to pick up on something that Sir Terry said at the very beginning. Can I touch on the sustainability assurance aspects. The Commission for a Sustainable 2012 does not just do the construction and the staging of the Games, it includes legacy, albeit that process is going to come to an end in about 2013. The first question, for the record, is do you welcome that scrutiny and will you cooperate fully with the Commission for a Sustainable 2012 for the legacy aspects?

I wanted to look at the housing side of what you are doing and dig into the finances behind that will underpin the proportions between social affordable, owner occupied and, indeed, private rented possibly. We have heard a lot about employment opportunities for local people. Will you be building any requirement into any of the contracts such as the construction ones to specifically employ and train local people - a bit like Crossrail has been able to do?

I want to follow on from Andrew but, also, I was struck by something John Biggs said about you are not mentioning the people. A huge part of the legacy is about the people and the people's quality of life when they are living there. The Commission for Sustainable London 2012 recommended that you should develop detailed design guidance for developers on how to incorporate food growing into its development plans. Have you done that?
