    • Question by: Sakina Sheikh
    • Meeting date: 10 February 2022
Sakina Sheikh AM: Good morning, Fiona and Andy, it is great to have you join us. It is a pertinent conversation to frame the rest of the discussion today about building safety. I wanted to start off by asking you, Fiona, specifically, what fire safety measures have been introduced into the planning system and how are they improving safety for Londoners?

    • Question by: Sem Moema
    • Meeting date: 10 February 2022
Sem Moema AM: Thank you, Chair, I will do my best. I am really pleased to see the work that the LFB does with local authorities and civil servants. I have seen your work helping Hackney identify buildings at risk and to put in place those mitigations. The Grenfell incident had a huge impact and has really changed the way in which the LFB has had to work. I just wonder that, following [the Rt Hon] Michael Gove’s [MP, Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities] on building safety and remediation around levelling up, how you think that...

    • Question by: Zack Polanski
    • Meeting date: 10 June 2021
Zack Polanski AM: My question is for you, Mr Mayor, and then I will come to the Fire Commissioner. You spoke with Assembly Member Sheikh before about TfL and inequality. • Question by: Susan Hall
    • Meeting date: 10 June 2021
Susan Hall AM: A very quick one, please, for Andy Roe. Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary, Fire and Rescue Services (HMICFRS) has identified several areas for improvement and I will talk to you at length about those another time. One, though, is providing practical training exercises at high-rise buildings for incident commanders and so on. You have mentioned 8,000 high-rise buildings in London. Can you tell me, have you at least sorted out that particular issue that the HMICFRS were concerned about?
  • Transport Strategy (Supplementary) [7]

    • Question by: Len Duvall OBE
    • Meeting date: 28 June 2017
Len Duvall AM: Thank you very much. To go back to the most challenging issue and just briefly about what, Mike, you said around technology and when technology becomes available, we know that that is constantly evolving and speeding up in some cases. Val, in answer to the question from Assembly Member Bailey, you talked about how this document really is what is in the business plan we are concentrating on and you have no long‑term plans, but in the direction of travel of the document it is quite clear you are supporting the Assembly Transport Committee’s plans for road...
