  • Question and Answer Session: Transport for London (Supplementary) [25]

    • Question by: Peter Fortune
    • Meeting date: 02 September 2021
Peter Fortune AM: This is a question for the Commissioner. Can I also just add to what my colleagues said about welcoming your appointment? Your informed, pragmatic and non-political approach is exactly what we need at this time because there are lots of challenging conversations going on. I am just looking at some data now of increased levels of car use in outer London post-pandemic. There are some big challenges around major infrastructure projects being shelved like the Sutton tram extension. I know there are conversations about reducing some bus frequencies in outer London as well. As a result of...
  • Question and Answer Session: Transport for London (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Siân Berry
    • Meeting date: 02 September 2021
Siân Berry AM: I would like to start with the Commissioner. On the TfL deal with the Government, one key part of that is the requirement to increase our fares in London by retail price index (RPI) plus 1%. That comes out at 4.8% this year, based on the figure for RPI that came out in July. Are you comfortable that a nurse in zone 6 is going to face an increase in the cost of travel on TfL services of as much as £20 a month according to this arrangement?
  • Question and Answer Session: Transport for London (Supplementary) [3]

    • Question by: Elly Baker
    • Meeting date: 02 September 2021
Elly Baker AM: My first question is to the Mayor, around service levels and service level reviews. TfL is required to review service levels on London buses, London Underground, and TfL, this month as you know. Does it make sense to review them just six weeks after the easing of restrictions on 19 July?
  • Question and Answer Session: Transport for London (Supplementary) [8]

    • Question by: Lord Bailey of Paddington
    • Meeting date: 02 September 2021
Shaun Bailey AM: Good morning, Mr Mayor. Good morning, Commissioner. A question to the Mayor. One of the options for Londoners who cannot afford the rise in the ULEZ, the expansion, is to join car clubs, especially in outer London where cars are still quite heavily used. Are we doing enough to promote this kind of activity? Are you working on that?
  • Addressing inequalities in Coronavirus response (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Susan Hall
    • Meeting date: 10 June 2021
Susan Hall AM: This is addressed to the Mayor. Good morning. Do you think your Health in All Policies approach was successful when implementing your Street Space schemes across London?
  • Addressing vulnerabilities in the GLA and Functional Bodies (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Keith Prince
    • Meeting date: 10 June 2021
Keith Prince AM (Deputy Chairman): I have a series of questions, mainly for the Commissioner, Andy Byford. Good morning, Andy. As you said earlier, you took over as Commissioner during lockdown, not at the beginning. Were there any processes in place that you changed straight away on your arrival?
  • Addressing vulnerabilities in the GLA and Functional Bodies (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Nick Rogers
    • Meeting date: 10 June 2021
Nicholas Rogers AM: This is a question to Commissioner Byford. Commissioner, could you give us an update, please, on the status of the Piccadilly line signalling upgrade? It is of particular interest to my constituents in Hounslow, and last year your predecessor described it as the number one priority for TfL. Could you give us an update on where we are please?
  • Addressing vulnerabilities in the GLA and Functional Bodies (Supplementary) [4]

    • Question by: Tony Devenish
    • Meeting date: 10 June 2021
Tony Devenish AM: My question is for the Commissioner of TfL, Andy Byford. In the last year, bus services have been a major component of keeping us safe while being transported in London. Do you have any particular changes in mind? What worked well and what did not work well during the crisis?
  • London Recovery Board and London Transition Board (Supplementary) [4]

    • Question by: David Kurten
    • Meeting date: 02 July 2020
David Kurten AM: Good morning, everybody. My first question would go to David Bellamy. I think you would be the person to answer this, but if you are not you can pass it on. My question is, what remuneration will the members of the London Transition Board and London Recovery Board be receiving for their service?
  • London Recovery Board and London Transition Board (Supplementary) [6]

    • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
    • Meeting date: 02 July 2020
Caroline Pidgeon MBE AM: My questions are to start off with to John O’Brien. I want to ask about support for businesses in London, with a particular focus on the restaurant industry. According to data from the Office for National Statistics, as of July last year there were nearly 16,000 restaurants in London employing around 325,000 people. Clearly, the sector has been hit very hard by COVID-19. Data showed in March, before the pandemic had fully hit, that 71% more food and accommodation businesses closed this March than they had in the previous March. John, I wonder if you could...
