Superloop

Transport for London (TfL) is delivering Superloop, a new network of express bus services that will enhance public transport provision in outer London and provide quicker journeys between transport hubs, town centres, hospitals, and schools. TfL launched the first four Superloop routes in July and August, with routes 607, X26, X68 and X140 rebranded as SL8, SL7, SL6 and SL9 respectively. Work is progressing on delivering the remaining six Superloop routes, with plans to introduce new routes SL1 and SL10 later this year, routes SL2, SL3 and SL5 by Spring 2024, and SL4 in conjunction with the opening of the Silvertown Tunnel. Over the coming months, TfL will review the impact of the Superloop routes and consider whether to make any changes or add any additional express routes.

TfL also has an ongoing programme of bus area reviews which help identify priorities for enhancements in outer London. There are already a large number of orbital routes, and any new ones would be complementary.

TfL will continue to improve the bus network in outer London as developments and infrastructure allow. This includes plans for service enhancements in Wembley, Battersea Power Station, Southall Green Quarter, Olympic Park and Harrow Eastman Village. Service changes will take place in Sutton and Croydon in 2024, and Silvertown in 2025.
