Question
Night Time Commissioner
How many foreign trips has the Night Time Commissioner undertaken as part of his role and what has been the itemised costs of these?
Answer
Date: Wednesday 30 August 2017
I appointed Philip Kolvin QC as the new Chair of the Night Time Commission in January. As part of this role, he has been engaging with a range of local, national and international stakeholders with expertise in the night time economy and culture in order to gather best practice and inform the work of the Commission.
As Chair of the Commission he has attended two events outside of the UK in Austin and Dublin. The costs to the GLA for these trips is £999.97.
He has attended other events outside of the UK in his capacity as a QC specialising in licensing law, including a conference in Lithuania.
