Question
Acquisitions in the Affordable Homes Programme 2021-26
At the Housing Committee meeting on 19 October 2023, the Deputy Mayor for Housing and Residential Development said that the proportion of acquisitions in the Affordable Homes Programme 2021-26 (AHP 2021-26) is capped at 30 per cent of overall homes, raised from a previous cap of 10 per cent. Could you tell me how many of these homes will be acquisitions to convert to social rent homes and how many will be homes for demolition?
Answer
Officers are drafting a response.
At this stage, we are unable to note how many of the acquisitions will be for social rent homes. However, this information will be available as projects start on site and complete and will be reported in the GLA affordable housing statistics. The acquisition cap will also include obsolete homes to be demolished, which we will also be able to report on once projects start on site.
