Strengthening London’s public health system

Crowds in London
Created on
23 November 2022

In April 2022, the Mayor established a new Greater London Authority (GLA) Group Public Health Unit, which aims to provide advice and support on public health issues across the GLA Group.

The London Assembly Health Committee will meet tomorrow to examine the progress and impact of the unit since it was established.

It will also consider what further action it could take to contribute to London’s public health system and the health of Londoners.

The guests are:

  • Vicky Hobart, GLA Group Director of Public Health & Deputy Statutory Health Adviser
  • Dr Tom Coffey OBE, Mayoral Health Adviser
  • Jazz Bhogal, Assistant Director for Health, Education and Youth
  • Farrah Hart, Consultant in Public Health, GLA Group Public Health Unit
  • Will Balakrishnan, Director of Commissioning and Partnership, Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC)

The meeting will take place on Thursday, 24 November from 10am, in the Chamber at City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, E16 1ZE.

Media and members of the public are invited to attend.

The meeting can also be viewed LIVE or later via webcast or YouTube.
