Your request 

As accountable body of the London LEP, please can you provide me with data on the Local Growth Fund, as detailed below, for the period starting in 2015 to the latest available date. Specific data in machine readable format, for each project:

  1. Project name and description.
  2. Project delivery timescales (start and end dates).
  3. Grant amount and total project expenditure or private sector leverage, by year or reporting period.
  4. Geographic location reported for the project. Please, could you provide this at the most granular geographical level available such as: postcode, Output Area / Lower Super Output Area or a standard electronic vector file (e.g. ESRI shapefile).
  5. Any reported project outcomes.
  6. Contact details of the person or department currently accountable for the Local Growth Fund.

The ‘geographic location’ several of the programmes projects were London wide and not fixed to a particular post code and the attached only lists postcode of project site/organisations address.

The LEP programme summary as of March 2024 is summarised below.
The LEP funded programmes as part of the Growth Deal had a total value of £324 million. These funds were allocated across 8 programmes and delivered by 3 directorates (Good Growth, Communities and Skills, Housing and Land) spanning 2016 to current with a focus on the key economic drivers of jobs, skills, commercial and skills floorspace, public realm and regeneration.

As of March 2024

  • £419 million match funding secured.
  • 17,000 jobs and apprenticeships
  • 65,000 m2 commercial floor space created/refurbished.
  • 184,000m2 skills floorspace
  • 441,000 learners assisted.
  • 7,000 business supported.

Programmes

  1. Further Education Capital/Skills for London- funds to help FE sector consolidate and extend education campus facilities.
  2. Good Growth Fund- diverse range of projects ( 74?) across London acting as catalyst for local regeneration schemes.
  3. Air Quality Programme- focus on key locations to improve air quality.
  4. Academies (construction, digital)- youth based training focused on key skills gaps in London.
  5. Small sites, small builders- unlocking small sites for housing enabling small builders to deliver housing.
  6. London Resilience Fund- innovation programme to support London’s businesses & community groups.
  7. London Diagnostics -MedCity funding for life sciences
  8. Covid Recovery programmes- diverse interventions in response to impact of pandemic
