Response information

Name of person responding: Stephen Greenhalgh, Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime

Response date: Tuesday 5 February 2013

“Dear Jennette,

In reviewing correspondence I discovered that we have not yet answered you letter sent to the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime on 25 October 2012. I recognize that this delay is unacceptable and can assure you that the technical difficulties that resulted in this delay have now been rectified.

Since you wrote to me in October 2012 the Mayor has started consulting on the draft Police and Crime Plan. This includes his proposals to improve public access, reflecting the new ways in which the public now access the police and ensuring that the victims are treated with the dignity and the respect they deserve.

Consultation is on-going and no decisions have yet been made. I will ensure that your petition on the Wansted Police Station is considered as part of this process.

As part of the consultation process I will be visiting Redbridge Town Hall on 11 February at 8pm where local residents will be provided with the opportunity to listen to the proposals in detail and feedback their concerns.”
