Nick Taylor (Past staff)

Biography

Nick has worked directly with public and private delivery partners in the housing and regeneration sector for the last 19 years. Nick was a founder senior member of the Homes & Communities Agency London team, created in 2009 and is currently the Head of North West London within the Housing and Land Directorate at the GLA. 

He manages the strategic GLA relationship across 12 North West London boroughs and a portfolio of development partners. Nick has been at the forefront of delivering new investment and intervention proposals in North West London and previously developing the delivery strategies for Housing Zones. Nick has sponsored the bidding and delivery of the Housing Infrastructure Fund on behalf of the GLA and is a board member of Urban Design London and the Housing Forum.

Prior to the GLA he was ‘Head of Investment’ in London at the Housing Corporation and Homes & Communities Agency, working across the capital to ensure the smooth delivery of the National Affordable Housing Programme.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the delivery of the Mayor’s housing led regeneration programmes and projects of all tenures across his portfolio, including the largest and most complex delivery projects in London and implementation of the Mayors flagship Affordable Housing Programme. The Head of Area and their respective teams act as both direct commissioner and client, delivering over 15,000 homes each year, working closely with Boroughs, registered providers and others to develop and deliver their housing and regeneration ambitions alongside the Mayor’s housing targets and corporate objectives. 
 
The Head of Area acts as expert technical, policy and delivery advisors within the GLA and across the Mayoral Family, leading and advising on complex projects, investments and funding programmes. Working across the GLA family, the Head of Area also advises and brokers affordable housing investment in the Mayor’s Development Corporations, across the commercial TfL portfolio and with other bodies in the Mayoral family.
