Question

At the Plenary on 5th March 2014 I raised the plight of residents in properties owned by MOPAC and managed by Crown Simmonds housing association which MOPAC was planning to sell off as part of its 2013-16 Estates Strategy. At the time you were unaware of their case, and when you responded to a letter I sent you in April you said 'It is my understanding that tenants were informed from the outset these leases were time limited and that this was not a long term arrangement'. We were told via a press release ("Deputy Mayor intervenes to keep residents in their homes") on 28 November that Stephen Greenhalgh had done a U-turn and stepped in to stop the estate sell off. What is your view about how these tenants have been treated, and will you join your Deputy Mayor in apologising to tenants for the way this has been handled?
