Funding for small charities affected by COVID-19
New funding is available from the Home Office to secure critical frontline services that have been affected by COVID-19.
This funding will be allocated by the London VRU (Violence Reduction Unit)
If your organisation is eligible and can benefit from these funds, we would strongly encourage you to apply immediately using the form below.
Application deadline: 10:30am on Monday, 29 June 2020. Applications are now closed.
What is being offered?
The London VRU has been allocated additional funding to provide to small and micro charities who are experiencing immediate financial hardship, significantly increased demand, or who have an urgent need to adapt services to meet COVID-19 measures (such as social distancing, or digital delivery).
This funding may be used to cover both incurred and anticipated additional costs. However, only costs incurred or activity delivered between 1 April-31 October 2020 are eligible for these funds.
For costs already incurred/delivered for April-June 2020, please provide evidence of expenditure within your total claim.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible to receive these funds, you must:
- be a registered charity, charitable incorporated organisation, or a social enterprise – this includes companies limited by guarantee and community interest companies
- be working with vulnerable young people at risk of being involved in serious violence
- be based in London, and working with Londoners
- have an annual income of less than £100,000, based on your latest annual return
Deadline, and how to submit?
Please submit your application by 10:30am on Monday, 29 June 2020. We appreciate that this is a tight timeframe, so we’ve made the application form as simple as possible.
Please apply via the application form below.
You must also submit a breakdown of your incurred and anticipated costs using this spreadsheet. This must be uploaded to the application form below as your response to the 'Additional costs - incurred and anticipated' question.
If you are also applying for funding from other government departments, please ensure there is no overlap in the requests made.
What happens next?
All eligible applications received by the deadline were assessed, and the VRU application was submitted to the Home Office 7th July. We will inform you of the outcome of your application as soon as we hear back from the Home Office.
If you have any questions, please email [email protected]. Otherwise, we will be in touch shortly.
