Sport Unites: Ideas Incubator
About the Incubator
The Mayor of London's Community Sport team delivers a rolling programme of workshops enabling Londoners to design and deliver fantastic sport and physical activity initiatives.
Who is it for?
We are looking to help individuals and organisations who are using sport to improve wellbeing and achieve social change. We can help develop your idea if your initiative uses sport to do achieve one of the following outcomes:
- helping the most inactive people be more active
- improving people’s mental health and wellbeing
- decreasing isolation and loneliness
- strengthening connections in your local area and across communities
- reducing serious youth violence
You will most benefit from an Ideas Incubator workshop, if you identify as one (or more) of the following:
- a community sport organisation that has not received funding before
- a non-sport organisation looking to introduce a sporting element into your work
- are relatively new to the sector, but have an innovative idea that you would like to bring to life
- have started delivering your idea, had some success, and are looking to scale up your work.
Sport Unites Ideas Incubator sessions
The Ideas Incubator is a programme of workshops and tailored support launched by the Mayor's Sport Team. It allows Londoners and London's community sport groups to develop and grow their initiatives using physical activity to transform lives and bring communities together.
We will run small group sessions enabling participants to define, refine, and understand what’s needed for their ideas to come to life. Every session will be followed up by a short one-to-one call with the participant, focusing on their individual needs.
Participants will be asked to complete a short survey in advance of the session to adapt the workshops and address their needs.
The Ideas Incubator is part of the Mayor of London's Sport Unites programme and accompanies the Mayor's Sport Unites Fund.
