Land at Blossom Street, Spitalfields public hearing
In his role of making strategic planning decisions for London, the Mayor may occasionally take over an application, therefore becoming the local planning authority. He must then hold a public hearing before deciding whether or not to grant planning permission.
In this instance, the Mayor took over the application for the redevelopment of Land at Blossom Street.
Background to the public hearing
On 10 September 2015 Tower Hamlets advised the Mayor it was minded to refuse planning permission for the redevelopment proposals for Land at Blossom Street, Spitalfields.
On 23 September 2015, having considered a report on the case (D&P/2656b/02), the Mayor notified Tower Hamlets that he would act as the local planning authority for the purposes of determining the planning applications (under article 7 of the Mayor of London Order and the powers conferred by Section 2A of the 1990 Town and Country Planning Act).
The Local Planning Authority reference assigned to the application is PA/14/03548 & PA/14/3618. The GLA reference is D&P/2656b
Revisions to the application
Following negotiations the applicant submitted revisions to the application, which make amendments to plans, planning documents and the Environmental Statement. Copies of the revised plans, including the Environment Statement can be found on the London Datastore, using the link below.

Hard copies of revised plans and supporting documents can be viewed between 9am and 1pm Monday to Fridays at Tower Hamlets Planning Office, 5 Clove Crescent, London E14 2BG.
The Mayor held a consultation from the 26 November 2015 to 18 December 2015 and is therefore now closed. Comments received after the end date, but before a decision is made, may still be taken into account but failure to meet this deadline could result in your comments not being considered. Any representations you have previously made on this application will still be taken into account.
