London Careers Hubs: Information for employers and training providers
A Careers Hub is a group of secondary schools, further education colleges, alternative provision and special schools in a dedicated area that work together to deliver high-quality careers education for all students. Collaborating with employers, the public, education and voluntary sectors, they help deliver the Gatsby Benchmarks and improve careers outcomes for young people.
You can find out more about the success of Careers Hubs in other areas of England by visiting The Careers & Enterprise Company's website. Careers Hubs are funded by the Mayor of London, The Careers & Enterprise Company and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).
Information for employers
Engagement with employers is central to the impact of any quality careers programme. We are always looking to increase our engagement with businesses from a range of sectors and sizes. If your organisation would like to engage with the Careers Hubs, speak to your local Careers Hub or get in touch with us directly at [email protected].
There are three ways you can get involved.
- Volunteer with a school or college as an Enterprise Adviser and make a difference to the careers curriculum at your local school or college.
- Become a Cornerstone Employer, part of a flagship group of employers that shape and influence the direction of the Hub and transform the lives of local young people in the area.
- Give An Hour is a great way to make a difference as an individual or as team. Volunteer in schools or colleges to deliver careers activities, speak at the assemblies or host an inspiring visit or experience at your workplace.
Information for training providers
The Careers Hubs offer is available to all London state secondary schools, FE colleges, alternative provision and special schools. To help them meet the eight Gatsby Benchmarks of excellent careers education, the offer includes:

- A dedicated Hub Enterprise Coordinator (EC) who will work with the careers leaders and Enterprise Advisers of a group of schools and colleges.
- Opportunities to trial new projects and approaches before they are rolled out across the country. Previous examples have included access to additional funding for transitions projects and early access to digital platforms.
- Strong local leadership and coordination through a ‘Strategic Hub Lead’ to help coordinate activity and build networks within the local infrastructure.
- Access to career and professional development tools.
- Access to events for students.
- Stronger links with employers.
- Access to a range of GLA-funded programmes to support the delivery of careers education, such as work experience and apprenticeship support.
