Description

The site is on Long Lane in Finchley and is adjacent to the North Circular Road, which can be accessed via Squires Lane around 0.8 miles to the north-east. It is around 0.6 miles from Finchley Central station (Northern Line). There are regular buses along Long Lane to Finchley Central and East Finchley stations.

The surrounding area is mainly residential, with local shops and amenities around 0.7 miles to the north-west. Brent Cross Shopping Centre is around 2.4 miles to the southwest.

This is a broadly rectangular site covered in vegetation and trees. There is a slight slope from the northwest to the southeast. There is direct access from Long Lane at the fenced northeastern boundary. The site is next to the elevated North Circular Road on the northwest, with open land to the southwest. There is a two-storey end of terrace house (290 Long Lane) on the southeastern boundary.

TfL will retain access rights over a 3m strip along the North Circular Road, for inspection and maintenance of the highway structure.

Planning statement: The site is not allocated for any specific use and is not part of a Conservation Area. There are no active planning applications or permissions for a change of use or redevelopment. LB Barnet have noted that the principle of residential use is likely to be acceptable on the site, subject to compliance with the relevant policies and standards.
