Public land map
The GLA is working with public sector landowners to accelerate the release of land in London for much needed housing.
You can find out about publicly owned land using our interactive land map.
About the Public Land team
The Public Land team enables collaboration and speeds up delivery by facilitating knowledge sharing, brokering relationships and partnership, and providing technical land and development expertise to support the work of government departments and GLA Group bodies.
It also brokers access to, and interventions from, the GLA’s Land Fund to accelerate and unlock public sector land projects, and manages the Small Sites x Small Builders programme which enables release of small sites for development.
Places for London portfolio approach
This table reflects Places for London’s start on-site programme as at October 2025 in line with their Portfolio Approach to Affordable Housing agreement from 2021. This information is updated on a quarterly basis.
Places for London:
The Places for London portfolio is currently projected to deliver 8,291 homes at an average of 46% affordable housing, when including schemes at all stages and pipeline. It is noted that the current level of affordable housing projected is slightly short of the 50% required by London Plan Policy H5. In order to achieve this, and to continue to ensure that the relevant sites within the portfolio remains at 50% affordable, Places for London is currently working with the GLA to assess options for unlocking existing stalled sites and identifying potential new sites.
For previous reporting please refer to the Homes for Londoners meeting minutes. For more detail on the links to planning policy, and why not all Places sites are covered by the agreement, see the report to the Board from 8 September 2021.
