What problems were in your school and how did you identify them?
- Pupil mobility is high, arrivals often have EAL needs.
- Most of our children start Early Years significantly below age related expectations with very limited English
- Rigorous baseline assessments
What actions did you take?
• Promoting a culture, which includes a programme of Continuous Professional Development, that focuses on improving the quality of teaching and learning
• Coaching staff throughout the school to further develop our provision
• School Improvement driven by teams across the school (distributive leadership)
• Focused progress meetings that ensure high expectations for all children
• A plan of carefully targeted interventions
• Strong partnerships with parents-keeping them informed of targets and how to support their child
• Developing a mental health and well-being team to support all members of our community
• A very structured approach to the teaching of reading that includes the use of sentence stems
• Learning behaviours are embedded

Progress Scores for low prior attainment
- Reading 6.13 (national -0.30)
- Writing 6.80 (national -0.36)
- Maths 10.50 (national -0.49)
