Sybourn Primary School 2019/20
Teaching to individual need with a forensic analysis of data
What problems were in your school and how did you identify them?
The majority of pupils joining the school start their education well below the expected standard.
What actions did you take?
- Split class teaching approach. Teachers deliver tailored sessions based on the individual needs of all learners.
- Forensic use and analysis of data, to ensure that provision was directly linked to the needs of all learners.
- Targeted pupil progress meetings with a clear focus on disadvantaged children.
- Tailored and bespoke CPD programme for all teachers to ensure all children are in receipt of a daily high-quality challenging provision that meets their individual needs.
- Robust tracking and monitoring of attendance and punctuality for all disadvantaged children.
What were the outcomes?
Children make outstanding progress. Progress measures at the end of KS2 are in the top 10% of schools nationally.
