What problems were in your school and how did you identify them?
The challenges were underperforming boys and girls who lacked engagement and motivation to succeed. Pupils were identified due to lack of resilience during exams and assessment.
What actions did you take?
- The following actions were taken:
- Identification of low achieving boys and girls following rigorous assessment
- Identifying areas for improvement
- Producing engaging materials to be learnt
- Developing their retention and recall skills in preparation for exams
- Resilience for exams
What were the outcomes?
- The gap between disadvantaged and non disadvantaged closed significantly
- Pupils showed engagement in topics learnt and resilience during exams
