Holding High Aspirations and Opportunities for All

What problems were in your school and how did you identify them?

Through data, working practice and our values we identified that we needed to create opportunities for all our children to be the very best they can.

What actions did you take?

We looked at all aspects of school life, thinking about ethos and culture within our school. We reinforced and built this together throughout our school community. We introduced 'Growth Mindset' and 'Philosophy for Children' for staff and children to work on resilience and be able to critically analyse and justify their own ideas and thinking.

We extended our more able pupils in the belief that if they achieve highly, this will impact all children’s progress.

We introduced interventions where needed and remained flexible within the approach to these.

A structured program for CPD, building knowledge and working practice together has impacted well. This has resulted in effective learning communities.

We focus on well-being; the impact on the school and children is vital to our success

What were the outcomes?

Increased resilience and high levels of progress for traditionally low performing groups
