What problems were in your school and how did you identify them?
Pupils with:
*Low parental aspirations
*Low level of parental support
*Slow processing skills.
What actions did you take?
We introduced an extra teacher to enable us to set the children by ability group - the lowest ability group being the smallest in size so we could focus on these children. We also introduced after school tutoring taught by the set teacher in small groups. This was complemented by Saturday School and Easter School.
What were the outcomes?
Overall progress in reading +3.2
Overall progress in writing +4.00
Overall maths progress +5.6.
