Sir John Lillie Primary School

Data analysis and targeted interventions keep up not catch up

What problems were in your school and how did you identify them?

We identified training needs for teachers and HLTAs to read and analyse data in order to deliver more specifically focussed lessons and, to ensure expected or more than expected progress.

What actions did you take?

- Half termly pupil progress meetings. These involved key members of the school team - SLT, class teacher and teaching assistant. Groups of underachieving pupils were identified and tracked. Colleagues were held to account regarding these groups or individuals at each pupil progress meeting. This was linked closely to our provision mapping and in turn to training of support staff. We did this through progressively more intense and in-depth pupil progress meetings each half term.

- CPD tailored to individual needs of colleagues and year groups.

- Regular monitoring -internal and external - triangulating the process.

- More detailed and analysis of data.

- Keep up not catch up.

- All colleagues held accountable.

- Sharing of good practise and strategies.

What were the outcomes?

- Outstanding results.

- Narrowing the gap

- More than expected progress

- Raising standards

- High quality teaching

- Consistent High expectations
