What problems were in your school and how did you identify them?
A large majority of disadvantaged pupils enter our school with very low attainment.
What actions did you take?
*Ongoing action research is used to inform high quality professional development. *Teachers and support staff are focused on evaluating the impact of their work on pupils' learning in order to shape high impact provision.
*Professional collaborations used to engage staff in ongoing research and development work.
*Approaches to teaching and learning were well thought through and consistently applied.
*There was a strong focus on the development of oracy to improve communication and thinking
*Children were taught to develop their independence, resourcefulness and resilience to enable them to overcome challenges.
*Learning was underpinned by a broad curriculum, enhanced with a very wide range of enriching opportunities which broaden their experiences and raised their aspirations.
What were the outcomes?
Pupils become confident, engaged and excited learners. They make outstanding progress, often in the top 10% of schools nationally.
