What problems were in your school and how did you identify them?

High numbers of pupil premium and EAL children living in an area of high social and economic deprivation. Children joining in nursery and reception start from a very low base.

What actions did you take?

Targeted interventions including:

Language:

Speech Bubble; Language Enrichment for EAL pupils; TEACCH; FFT; SALT: 1:1 programmes;

Literacy:

Precision Teaching; Better reading Partners; Dyslexia 1:1 support; SpLD (Dyslexia) teaching; 1st Class@Writing; Targeted TA support; Phonics Intervention - groups and 1:1; Yoe by Toe; Direct Phonics; Reading Between the Lines;

Maths:

Discalculia Support; Numicon Intervention; 1stClass@Number; Success@Arithmetic; Precision teaching for Maths

SEMH:

Zippy's Friends; SEMH Team Play Therapy 1:1 and Groups; ELSA (emotional Literacy) support; Social Stories; SIBS Talk

Specialist Interventions:

Autism Support Team; Occupational Therapy; Physiotherapy; School Nurse; Community Paediatricians; EP; Family Support Worker

Family Interventions:

FUNS Project; Family Skills Project

What were the outcomes?

All outcomes for end of KS2 were above national averages:

Reading; 78%

Writing: 80%

Maths: 84%

GPS: 88%

Combined: 72%
