What problems were in your school and how did you identify them?
July 2016 results were 30% combined, significantly below the national average.
What actions did you take?
- Strategic planning and regular monitoring of the actions taken, making a judgement about how effective these actions have been and then planning strategically to act on those outcomes.
- Early identification of individuals needing support.
- Rigorous tracking of progress against aspiring targets.
- Distributed leadership and responsibility for children’s progress, creating a multi-layered approach.
- Driving improvement teaching and raising expectations in every classroom with a focus on pace and resilience.
- Working systematically with parents to ensure children were supported and on track.
- Creating and maintaining an environment of positive attitude, resilience and accelerated pace for all.
- Additional learning opportunities and lots of hard work and dedication from a team of brilliant people.
What were the outcomes?
In July 2017 our combined result was 88% and our outstanding progress placed us in the top 10% nationally.
