What problems were in your school and how did you identify them?
Challenges are identified through rigorous formative assessment, baseline and termly summative assessment and monitoring. There are high levels of pupils with multiple barriers to learning.
What actions did you take?
The school development plan details priorities for the year. Staff are supported to implement these priorities through quality CPD. Subject leads are involved in 'deep dive' style monitoring. Staff appraisal and pupil progress meetings are aligned and identify focus pupils and strategies to improve attainment. There are many additional provisions to enable pupils to 'close the gap' and achieve well such as booster lessons, catch up programmes, SEND groups and GD provisions. These provisions are led by senior leaders.
What were the outcomes?
Spring 2020 data all year groups were on track to attain national benchmarks at the expected and greater depth.
