Hampton Hill Junior School 2018/19
Identifying programmes of support for disadvantaged pupils and implementing them.
What problems were in your school and how did you identify them?
*Identifying pupils who were not on track academically or socially- through pupil tracking/ FFT.
*Identifying their barriers to learning - social, emotional and academic.
*Making decisions to support their progress.
What actions did you take?
*A comprehensive programme of pastoral and behavioural support was put in place.
*Target setting meetings were held with all parents.
*Home learning focused on core skills.
*Improved tracking data was used to enhance decision making.
*Pupil progress meetings were targeted at children who were not on track, and used to inform decision making about the support we should provide.
*Booster small group interventions were provided for Y6 pupils - to support class teaching.
*We continued to provide a width of curriculum so the focus wasn't solely on SATs preparation.
*We committed to a whole team approach across Y6 and a positive culture - which remained constant all year.
What were the outcomes?
Children engaged with the programme. Pleasing average progress for disadvantaged pupils in reading and writing and overall achievement for LPAers.
