Investing in excellence for all pupils.

What problems were in your school and how did you identify them?

Data analysis showed low prior attainers, disadvantaged pupils and some disengaged children were underachieving.

What actions did you take?

*Lead practitioners for English and maths worked closely alongside year group from Summer 2016, when pupils were in year 5.

*Invested in quality first teaching

*PiXL interventions and practice papers

*'Yes I can' ethos

*Raised aspirations through a careers events

*Parents came in to share practice papers with their children.

*One to one precision teaching

*Booster groups run by Year 6 teachers

*Easter school

*Teacher employed to work with our disadvantaged pupils

*Support for pupil's wellbeing through nurture groups and Emotional Literacy Support Assistants.

*Workshops with a visiting children's author

What were the outcomes?

Progress for low prior attainers was significantly above national in reading and maths; and above national in writing in 2017.
