What problems were in your school and how did you identify them?

An area of high deprivation, the highest IMD score of all Ealing. Children enter Year 7 with KS2 scores significantly below NA and progress of HA children is a priority.

What actions did you take?

We fund a strong Social Inclusion Department staffed by 6 Learning Mentors and led by a member of SLT who works very closely with families of more vulnerable students.

Catch Up funding supports an additional set for Year 7 English and Maths providing a more focused intervention by teaching staff for LA students.

Our developmental lesson observations have focused on Stretch and Challenge and we have led a borough wide Stretch and Challenge Twilight CPD programme to share best practice. Rigorous data analysis supported by 4 Matrix and ALPS, coupled with a strong intervention programme keeps all pupils on track.

What were the outcomes?

2017 P8 score +0.84. 2018 provisional P8 score +0.74. All ability profiles show sig + P8 scores. Attendance 96.43%
