What problems were in your school and how did you identify them?
High percentage of pupils that started school well below the national average. We realised they needed to make accelerated progress to make age related progress.
What actions did you take?
- Committed to ensuring that every child gets the very best education
- An ethos of high aspirations for every child
- Provide a creative and enriched curriculum that provides pupils with awe inspiring experiences
- Ensuring that we provide an inclusive curriculum that enables every child to achieve to their goals
- Specific Intervention groups for pupils to support learning and progress
- Family Learning sessions for parents to enable them to effectively support their children
- Consistency and coherence in planning across the whole school, enabling staff to identify gaps and inform future teaching
- High quality CPD for staff in pedagogy and subject knowledge
- Regular review of the curriculum to ensure that it is meeting the needs of our pupils
What were the outcomes?
Expected Standard achieved - Reading - 93.9%, Writing - 89.8%, Maths - 95.2%.
