Improving educational outcomes for Design & Technology
Design Shed provided out-of-school training for teachers in 14 West London schools to support them in developing their curriculum in STEM and Design and Technology. It brought together experienced teachers, industry practitioners, young graduates and school pupils. A range of educational activities were delivered including Design Days and Design Camps.
The project found that pupils became more enthusiastic about their lessons which meant that engagement increased. Evaluation showed improved teacher subject and pedagogic knowledge and increased confidence.
[Pupil A] thoroughly enjoyed her week at design camp! She was thrilled with the results of her efforts...
