Meet Dock And Bay

Dock & Bay have reinvented the traditional cotton towel by producing a product that outperforms its predecessor in every way. Now they are working towards making their products from 100% recycled materials.

The towels, made from a unique polyester/polyamide material, are highly absorbent and dry quickly, yet aren’t as bulky as regular cotton towels so are compact when folded. They also don’t collect sand or damp smells, meaning that beach lovers and gym-goers alike will enjoy the benefits.

At present, their eco collection is made from 30% recycled plastic bottles and they intend to push further.

With the first 100% recycled Dock & Bay towel due in late 2019, the company intends to roll out the use of the eco-friendly material across all their towel ranges. In addition to towels, Dock & Bay also produces swim shorts made from 100% recycled plastic bottles, beach ponchos for children and adults, hair wraps and cooling towels.

Founders Andy and Ben are serious about sustainability and reducing their ecological footprint as the company grows. The ‘Doing Our Bit’ campaign involves innovation in their manufacturing and packing process, which has already seen them replace all plastic packing with 100% biodegradable materials.

Dock & Bay was founded after Andy and Ben looked for a towel solution for travellers with endless wanderlust but limited packing space. They wanted to cater for beach-loving backpackers, gym enthusiasts and families alike, all of whom could benefit from towels that didn’t take up as much space and had better drying capabilities. Their inaugural design met that need and empowered the company to disrupt the towel industry, broadening out to several ranges of colourful designs.

Their first 100% recycled towel will be released in support of the Whale and Dolphin Conservation wildlife charity. Working from opposite sides of the globe, UK-based Andy and Aussie Ben already have new products in the pipeline and are committed to finding the most sustainable way to produce them.
