The programme

Stronger Futures is a targeted funding programme manged by Rocket Science and Action for Race Equality.

The first iteration of the Stronger Futures programme was delivered between 2021 and 2023. The £1.2 million fund supported organisations delivering activities for young people aged 10-18 after school and at weekends. The programme aimed to help young people who are more likely to experience violence, poverty or exploitation.

During the first iteration of the programme, 18 community-led organisations received funding to deliver a mix of activities, including youth clubs, mentoring, sports, and group leadership sessions. These activities aimed to keep young people safe by helping their mental health, education, and access to jobs.

The VRU commissioned Renaisi to evaluate the programme exploring the reach and impact on young people, and the effects of being involved  in grassroots organisations.

The evaluation publication is forthcoming.
