Loved and Wanted Fund
Key information
About the fund
The Loved and Wanted Fund aims to promote social cohesion across London. It recognises that Londoners need to be supported to play a key role in building a more just, welcoming city.
This builds on the framework the Mayor established in All of Us, London’s first dedicated social integration strategy. Social cohesion is created where spaces enable quality interactions and connections between Londoners from different backgrounds. It's about building relationships between different communities and providing clear pathways for participation in the local area and in London at large. And it relies on equality, tackling the barriers some Londoners face to building relationships and participating in community life.
Voluntary, community and faith groups already deliver great work to foster compassion and mutual support amidst uncertainty and adversity. In recognition of this, the programme aims to improve collaboration on social cohesion-building between the public sector and civil society.
We want to grow a London-wide network of community spaces aligned with the values of the Mayor’s Loved and Wanted campaign that will work with us to amplify the campaign goals of respect, unity and togetherness. These groups will stand as beacons of welcome for all Londoners, trusted by their communities to provide safe, supportive spaces.
The new £900,000 Loved and Wanted Fund will resource these organisations to deliver activities that promote greater levels of social cohesion. Their work will focus on bringing different communities together and addressing the barriers some Londoners face to participating fully in their communities and in our capital. Organisations who receive funding must also work collaboratively, especially with small civil society organisations who already do great work at local level, to deliver their programmes.
What the fund supports
Funding of up to £60,000 is available for organisations to develop and deliver a programme of work as a Loved and Wanted space. This programme can be made up of new and/or existing activities.
Your proposed activities should include elements to:
- build relationships among Londoners from different communities and faith backgrounds
- improve access to the support and services Londoners need to participate fully in community life
We also encourage proposals that show how funding would be used to build on your current work to:
- deepen and extend reach with Londoners
- work in partnership with other organisations within your local area and borough to create a wider network of support aligned to the Loved and Wanted campaign
- apply a 'Loved and Wanted' lens to widen your current work in creative ways and increase the impact for Londoners.
With the Loved and Wanted Fund, we aim to achieve the following objectives:
- Build meaningful relationships across communities.
- Increase the number and visibility of spaces where Londoners can go to feel more loved and wanted.
- Help every Londoner to participate fully in community life.
- Better identify and address pressures within communities.
- Strengthen regional inter-faith cooperation and engagement.

How to apply
The application process is split into two stages.
- Stage 1: Expression of Interest (open to all)
- Stage 2: Full application (up to 45 shortlisted applicants)
Before applying, please read our funding guidance and assessment framework.
The Expression of Interest form covers your organisation's mission, the communities you work with(in), and how you would use Loved and Wanted funding to reach more Londoners and promote cohesion. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to Stage 2 to provide greater detail on the proposed Loved and Wanted offer, plans to manage it, impact measurement, and the long-term vision for the space.
In choosing who to fund, we will look for evidence that you can work collaboratively to build social cohesion and amplify the Loved and Wanted goals of unity, respect and togetherness.
Find more information in the assessment framework.
In your application, you must include initial key performance indicators (KPIs) – the ways you'll measure the success of your activities.
Whilst final KPIs will be agreed with individual grantees, we expect all Loved and Wanted spaces to evidence impact against the following outcomes:
