A Peek Into Storyland
Description:
My idea for the 4th plinth competition is a colourful book with different genres, themes and classic books flying out of it. I was inspired to create this because of my love for books, I can’t escape from them!
There is a large veridian (green) book at the bottom, this is the thing that holds everything up, in the middle of it there is a bold red ribbon (bookmark). Each thing coming out of the book is a genre or theme of storytelling such as poetry and horror. These will be held up using wire, or metal rods wrapped with wire.
On the bottom of the book (pages) there will be classic stories such as Harry Potter and Anne of Green Gables, these will be small aspects of the stories (like Anne’s hat and Harry’s scar and glasses) mounted on a plaque. The things up above however, are 3d objects to represent genres and themes, like a robot head for sci - fi and a backpack for adventure.
