A Trailblazer
Description:
My piece has been made in memory of Ruth Handler, the creator of ‘Barbie’. I chose to dedicate my pot to her as she is a woman who has encouraged so many girls to achieve their dreams through her line of dolls. Before the brand was created, there was very little representation of women in toys, baby and toddler dolls were pretty much all you could buy. However, Ruth’s brand has given girls of multiple generations representations of strong, confident women from many different backgrounds, inspiring them to believe that they can do anything - something she should be celebrated for.

Floral music
Description:
My ceramic piece is about the music of Sade and what her music sounds like. For example the swirls across my piece symbolise the flow of her songs and peace of it. I think Sade deserved a monument as her music is underappreciated by the younger generation and it would be good to spread her music around. I made the flower by shaping each petal and adding them on. I added the flower because I thought it would add layers and different levels to my ceramic piece and also more colour.

Fallen Angel of Time
Description:
This artwork represents a fallen angel who was once a guardian of time but has now lost their way. Surrounded by shattered fragments of the past, floating clocks, and symbols of lost moments, the angel stands on a crumbling pedestal, embodying the struggle between fate and free will. The muted colours and broken wings symbolize the weight of time and regret, while the glowing elements hint at lingering hope. This piece invites us to reflect on how time shapes our lives, the things we leave behind, and the power of moving forward despite the past.

Embrace the World
Description:
This artwork symbolizes unity, love, and protection of our planet. The intertwined rainbow-coloured forms represent diversity and inclusion, embracing the Earth in a gesture of care and harmony. The butterfly at the top signifies transformation and hope, reminding us of the delicate balance of nature. The vibrant colours reflect the beauty of different cultures coming together to support a shared home. This piece encourages viewers to cherish the world and work collectively toward a brighter, more compassionate future.

Always light at the end of the road
Description:
This piece is inspired by the phrase, 'there is always light at the end of the road'. It consists of a scene at an abandoned house full of sweet, cherished moments from the 1970s. Then, it is touched by the bright rays of the sun and is revived with the aura it used to emit when the young couple, now at the ripe age of 80, used to reside there.

The vivid sparks
Description:
This piece of art embodies the vividness present in one's life. The contrasting hues signify every difference one comes across, which, in this case, is identity. Our identity can't be fully portrayed, as every little thing makes up a large contribution in one's identity, as boldly displayed by the ice lolly, lipstick and marbles.
