Introduction
Welcome from Cameron Leslie, Chair
Item 1: Previous Meeting’s Actions
The Chair provided a recap of the last meeting’s actions which are all covered in the notes below.
Item 2: Recap of the subgroup recommendations
GLA officers presented the proposed nightlife research. They reviewed and discussed key focus areas and subgroup recommendations. The Taskforce was asked to identify potential individuals or organisations to provide evidence, prompting a discussion on relevant stakeholders. The Taskforce requested a presentation on London’s Nightlife Governance.
ACTION: London Nightlife Taskforce will review the report and share their top 10 priorities at the next meeting.
ACTION: GLA officers to present an overview of London’s nightlife governance including relevant laws, regulations, and licensing accountabilities.
Item 3: Communications and Stakeholder Engagement
VibeLab presented the proposed stakeholder engagement plan. The Taskforce emphasised the need for diverse representation of opinions and experiences in the research. The Taskforce were asked to recommend key stakeholders that should be engaged in the research.
ACTION: London Nightlife Taskforce will provide stakeholder recommendations to VibeLab for the research.
Item 4: Evidence Gathering Sessions
The Taskforce discussed people that they would like to invite to evidence sessions and asked that evidence-gathering sessions be held outside of Taskforce meetings.
ACTION: 24 Hour London to arrange evidence-gathering sessions for each subgroup outside of Taskforce meetings.
Item 5: Any Other Business (AOB)
The Taskforce discussed the request from the Mayor’s Cultural Leadership Board for a representative from the Taskforce. A proposal for ‘rotating representative’ was agreed.
ACTION: 24 Hour London to ask if the Mayor’s Cultural Leadership Board will accept ‘rotating representative’ instead of a fixed seat.
