LendoBox makes product rentals more accessible by providing them alongside current bookings. Eg. offering camping equipment rentals at campsites.

We felt a frustration at needing to own a lot of equipment to enjoy activities, so looked for an alternative option. But found rentals are a hassle to access and not easy to find. So we built the tech to bring them as packages alongside activities, offering the rentals where there is a need. Removing the product barrier to engagement by offering a rental solution.

We piloted our business model with campsites, providing their customers rentals inside their current customer journey, capturing orders and delivering on them without the need for any extra paperwork. 2 weeks after launch we were already taking bookings, then partnered with Lee Valley to pilot our technology and have been generating avg 20% wow revenue growth since campsites reopened.

We are now exploring other sectors that can benefit from providing easy rentals to their customers, such as ski clothing at ski resorts and fitness equipment.

Product re-use/rental has the capability to tackle the emissions equivalent to 1million cars.

What challenges have we faced?

Our model is applicable to a large range of industries and we are gaining interest across a number of them, it’s important to manage growth and learn to adapt to customer demand.

Whilst we also realise that reverse logistics of the product rentals sector is under developed, it is important to set a strategy for growth that encompasses these operational hurdles.

We are continuing to focus on developing our technology platform and build models that analyse the carbon avoidance of our rentals. By choosing to rent instead of buy we support consumers in reducing their carbon footprint and shift our society to a more circular economy.
